It runs its own offices rather than franchises, lists Florida general contractor and mold remediator licences, and has handled hurricane work at scale. It publishes no prices, its business is weighted toward large and commercial jobs, and its BBB file shows 47 complaints in three years and an average of 1.84 of 5 from 31 reviews, mostly about delays and communication. Use it for large or storm losses, and for a single wet room get a second written estimate from a local IICRC-certified restorer.

We have not hired ATI Restoration, and nobody at BestHonestPro has. This review is research: ATI's own website, office pages, licence list, press releases and a hurricane case study, TSG Consumer Partners' announcement of its investment, an Orange County Business Journal profile, Better Business Bureau files for its headquarters and its Orlando office, two published cost guides and the Florida statute on assignment of benefits. We searched for lawsuits and state enforcement actions and report what we found. We left out anything we could not trace to a source.

We have not called ATI Restoration for a test quote yet. When we do, what we asked and what they said will be added here with the date.

What ATI Restoration is

ATI Restoration was founded in 1989 by Gary Moore and is based in Anaheim, California. Members of the Moore family run it, and Ryan Moore was named chief executive in November 2025. In August 2020 the private equity firm TSG Consumer Partners announced an investment, with terms not disclosed and the family keeping ownership. ATI's own site describes a partnership with TSG. We could not confirm whether TSG is still an investor.

It is big. The Orange County Business Journal reported $599.3 million in 2024 revenue, more than 2,600 employees and about 70 locations in 25 states. ATI's locations page lists 75 offices. Unlike franchise brands, the offices are ATI's own.

ATI handles water, fire, mold, asbestos, demolition and reconstruction for homes and businesses. Much of its work is commercial and large-loss, and in January 2025 it announced a bigger push into residential insurance claims.

What ATI Restoration charges

ATI does not publish prices. Its Tampa page says costs vary with the damage and asks you to call for a quote. The only ATI-specific figure we found is from a news profile: an average job of $14,000 to $15,000 across all its work in 2024, which includes commercial and storm jobs. For a house, the national averages below are a better yardstick. They cover any company, not ATI.

ATI Restoration, your insurer and the Florida AOB rule

ATI says it works directly with insurers, confirms coverage before starting and sends the insurer photos and updates as the job goes. It has sold to insurance carriers for decades and runs managed repair programmes for them.

The Florida rule to know before you sign. For any residential property policy issued on or after 1 January 2023, Florida law says you may not assign your post-loss insurance benefits to a contractor. If your policy is older and still allows it, an emergency-services assignment is capped at the greater of $3,000 or 1% of your dwelling coverage, and you can cancel it within 14 days. Read the work authorization for any wording that assigns benefits or lets the company deal with your insurer in your place.

ATI Restoration in Florida

ATI lists four Florida offices: Fort Lauderdale (Oakland Park), Fort Myers, Orlando and Tampa. There is no office listed in Miami-Dade, Palm Beach, Sarasota, Jacksonville, Tallahassee or the Panhandle. Outside those four metros, ask how far the crew is travelling before you wait on it.

Its Florida storm record is real. ATI's own case study says it sent about 260 workers to Captiva Island after Hurricane Ian in 2022 for a $10 million resort job, and a 2025 news profile reports more than 300 jobs after Hurricanes Milton and Helene. Those examples are commercial. We found no Florida figures for single-family homes.

ATI's licence page lists Florida general contractor licences (CGC1521641, CGC038548), mold remediator licences (MRSR445, MRSR2426) and an asbestos contractor licence (CJC1154408). We have not checked these numbers with the Florida DBPR, so treat them as shown, not verified.

The complaint record, read fairly

The BBB grades ATI A+ and it is accredited. That grade mostly reflects how complaints get answered. The headquarters file shows 47 complaints in three years, 37 of them about service or repair and one about billing, and an average of 1.84 of 5 across 31 customer reviews. The Orlando file, accredited since December 2022, shows 48 complaints, likely much the same company-wide count.

For a company doing tens of thousands of jobs a year, 47 complaints is a small number, and review sites draw unhappy customers first. The pattern still helps. The repeated complaints are slow repairs, long timelines, poor communication and trouble getting itemized invoices or completion paperwork. We found fewer complaints about the price itself.

Who it suits, and who should compare

A good fit: a large loss near one of its four Florida offices, such as storm damage, a condo leak that crossed several units or a job that will need a rebuild, where one licensed company for drying, mold and reconstruction saves you handoffs.

Get a second estimate: a single wet room or a small leak, where a local IICRC-certified restorer may be quicker and cheaper, and anywhere far from its offices. If there is mold, Florida requires a licensed mold assessor and a licensed remediator, and the same company may not do both on your house within 12 months. See mold after a leak.

Ask these on the phone, in this order, and ask the same questions of whoever you compare them with. The spread in the answers tells you more than the spread in the prices.

Which ATI office will run my job, and how far away is the crew?
Which Florida licence covers my job? Its contractor licences start CGC and its mold remediator licences start MRSR. Check them free on the DBPR site.
Is there a trip, inspection or after-hours charge, and what do I owe if I say no?
Does anything in this contract assign my insurance benefits? My policy was issued on (date).
Will I get a line-item written estimate before work goes past emergency drying, and an itemized final invoice?
Will I get daily moisture readings, drying logs, photos and an equipment count?
Who is my single point of contact, and how often will they update me until the rebuild is done?
