Our verdict. Zoom Drain is a drain and sewer specialist, so it makes sense for a backed-up drain or sewer line, not for a burst supply pipe or a slab leak. It quotes flat menu prices before work and backs service with a 30-day guarantee, per its own site. Its six Florida offices all opened from 2022 onward, so there is little track record, and no national review average or published cost guide exists to check it against. BBB files for the Florida offices range from an F (Fort Myers, over a missing competency licence) to A+. Call the office near you for a drain problem, check its CFC licence first, and get a second quote for any sewer replacement.

How we reviewed Zoom Drain: research only, nobody here has hired them, 20 public sources. Read the method

We have not hired Zoom Drain, and nobody at BestHonestPro has. This review is research: the brand's own website, pricing and guarantee pages and Florida location list, its franchise disclosure document, its own press releases, a franchise trade profile, Better Business Bureau files for four Florida offices, a published cost guide for typical drain cleaning prices, and searches of the public record for lawsuits and official actions. We looked for ConsumerAffairs and Trustpilot pages and found none. We left out anything we could not trace to a source.

We have not called Zoom Drain for a test quote yet. When we do, what we asked and what they said will be added here with the date.

What Zoom Drain is

Zoom Drain traces its roots to 1995 in the Philadelphia area, founded by Jim Criniti, who is still CEO. In June 2021 the investment firm MPK Equity Partners made a strategic investment. The franchise disclosure document says a holding company, ZD Holdco, LLC, took over the franchisor's business in February 2021, and that MPK Equity Partners manages the controlling entities from Dallas, Texas. The disclosure document names Restoration 1, a water damage restoration franchise, as an affiliate.

The unit counts do not agree. In June 2021 the company had 2 corporate and 14 franchised locations. Its own June 2023 press release said 48 locations. A franchise trade profile said 55 in September 2023. FranchiseChatter, summarizing the disclosure document, reports 123 franchised and 3 company-owned units at the end of 2023, and the disclosure document notes one franchisee can hold several territories. Its locations page listed 80 locations in 30 states when we checked. Each location is independently owned and operated.

For water, Zoom Drain does drains and sewers only: drain cleaning, hydro-jetting, camera inspection, sewer repair and replacement, trenchless work, septic and pumps. In its own words, drains and sewers are "all we do."

What Zoom Drain charges

Zoom Drain does not publish its menu prices online, and none of the major cost guides (Angi, HomeGuide, Forbes Home, This Old House) publishes Zoom Drain prices. For context, here is what HomeGuide reports for drain work by any plumber.

How the quote works. Zoom Drain says it uses flat-rate menu pricing, approved before work begins, and that "you'll never pay more if the repair takes longer than expected." Its guarantee page says every service is backed by a 30-day guarantee and "the price we quote is the price you pay." We found no public statement on trip fees or after-hours charges, and no written exclusions for the guarantee. Ask both on the phone.

Zoom Drain in Florida

Its Florida page lists six offices: Northeast Florida (St. Augustine), Broward County (Coral Springs), Fort Lauderdale (address in Miami), Jacksonville, South Florida (Miami) and Southwest Florida (Fort Myers). The Fort Lauderdale and South Florida offices show the same Miami address. Coverage is thin outside the Atlantic coast and Southwest Florida. We found no office for Tampa, Orlando, Tallahassee or the Panhandle.

All of them are young. The brand's press releases date the Fort Myers opening to March 2023, Miami to March 2023, the Fort Lauderdale area office to May 2023 and Jacksonville to June 2023. BBB dates the Broward office to September 2023 and the Northeast Florida office to January 2024.

The complaint record, read fairly

There is no national average to lean on. We found no ConsumerAffairs or Trustpilot page for Zoom Drain, so the BBB files for each Florida office are the main public record, and they vary widely.

The Fort Myers F is BBB's finding, based on its reading of state licence records, and it can change when a licence is added. The brand's 2023 press release describes that office's owner as a master plumber with 45 years of experience. Either way, the fix for you is the same: ask for the CFC number and check it on the DBPR site before work starts. The licence numbers above come from BBB files. We have not checked them on DBPR ourselves.

The franchise disclosure document reports no disclosable litigation for Zoom Drain Franchise, LLC. An affiliate, Restoration 1 Franchise Holdings, settled a Virginia franchise registration matter in July 2024 by paying $1,000 in investigation costs.

Who it suits, and who should compare

A good fit: a backed-up toilet, a main line clog, a sewer smell or a slow drain, in an area with a Zoom Drain office, when you want a flat price agreed first.

Call someone else, or compare: a leaking supply line, a burst pipe, a water heater leak or a slab leak, which need a general plumber or a leak detection company.
