Our verdict. 1-Tom-Plumber is a reasonable call for an urgent leak if one of its Florida locations serves your area. It says it can usually dispatch within an hour, runs 24/7, and offers plumbing, leak detection and water damage restoration under one name. It is also a young franchise: most Florida offices are only a few years old, it publishes no actual prices, and the public record is thin, with a 1.8 of 5 BBB review average at its original Cincinnati office. Use it for the emergency, and get a second written quote from a licensed local plumber for anything big or non-urgent.

We have not hired 1-Tom-Plumber, and nobody at BestHonestPro has. This review is research: its own website, FAQ, location list and Tampa page, franchise directory listings (Entrepreneur, Sharpsheets, the International Franchise Association), Better Business Bureau files for its Cincinnati and Melbourne offices, a national cost guide, and searches of consumer review sites and public records for lawsuits or state actions. We read patterns across complaints rather than quoting single angry customers, and we left out anything we could not trace to a source.

We have not called 1-Tom-Plumber for a test quote yet. When we do, what we asked and what they said will be added here with the date.

What 1-Tom-Plumber is

1-Tom-Plumber started in the Cincinnati area. Kameron Hensley is named as co-founder, the brand dates itself to 2018, and it began franchising in 2020. The name nods to Thomas Crapper, and the phone number 1-866-758-6237 spells the brand on a keypad. Its site now names Angie Honeycutt as president.

The unit counts do not agree. Entrepreneur lists 64 units. Sharpsheets, working from franchise disclosure data, lists 28 (23 franchised, 5 company-owned). The brand's own location page lists more than 60 locations plus several marked coming soon. The gap most likely reflects fast growth since the older data, but we could not confirm a current official count.

For you this matters because the name on the truck does not tell you who owns the business. The Melbourne office, for example, is listed on its BBB file under CK Plumbing Services, LLC. Ask on the phone who you are hiring.

What 1-Tom-Plumber charges

1-Tom-Plumber does not publish its own price list, and we found no cost guide (Angi, HomeGuide, Forbes Home, This Old House) that reports 1-Tom-Plumber prices. What it does publish is how pricing works: its FAQ says it uses menu-based pricing for every service, charges a dispatch fee to assess the problem, and waives that fee if you go ahead with the work. The amount of the dispatch fee is not stated, and we found no statement either way on night or weekend rates.

1-Tom-Plumber in Florida

Florida is one of its biggest states. Its location page lists 12 Florida locations: Clearwater, Daytona Port Orange, Fort Lauderdale, Fort Myers, Jacksonville, Lakeland, Longwood, Melbourne, Punta Gorda, Sarasota, St. Petersburg and Tampa. There is no Miami or Orlando city page, although Longwood is in the Orlando area.

The Tampa page lists an office at 333 N Falkenburg Rd and plumbing licence CFC1433508. The Melbourne BBB file shows licence CFC 1432380 and a business start date of February 2022. We have not checked these licence numbers with the Florida DBPR, so treat them as shown, not verified.

The complaint record, read fairly

The record is small, because the brand is young. There is no single BBB file for the brand, since each office has its own. The two we read point in different directions.

A handful of reviews cannot tell you much either way. The Cincinnati complaints and low reviews are about prices well above other plumbers, a large repair estimate another plumber later did for far less, and work that did not fix the problem. The Melbourne reviews praise honest pricing and staying with a hard job. We found no lawsuit, Attorney General action or settlement involving the brand.

A good fit: water running now, you are in one of its Florida service areas, and you want a technician fast and one company that can also dry out the room.

Get a second quote: anything that is not an emergency, any recommendation to excavate or replace a line, and any office with few reviews. Ask for the menu price in writing before work starts, then call one licensed local plumber and compare. See slab leaks and what a repipe costs.
